A Medium Bad Local Election Loss For Labour Is The Worst Case
Starmer Isn’t Jumping, He May Not Get Pushed
Labour have looked set to lose a horrendous amount of councillors in UK local elections, held 7 May, for quite some time now. The below were projections from poll check from before the vote (last weekend), with Labour expected to shed more councillors than they keep relative to the last time these councils were voted on in 2022.
The problem with such low expectations is that they are quite hard to disappoint. At the time of writing, with 107 of 136 councils decided, Labour are on 729 councillors, sat in second place to Reform on 1148 councillors. Bad, but not horrific. Prime Minister & Labour Leader Keir Starmer may even think, you know what, we’ll take that.
